White River Junction — Police in Hartford are searching for a gunman who robbed the Holiday Inn Express early Monday morning.

Authorities said a white male wearing a dark-colored hoodie and black bandana covering his face had a handgun and demanded money from the desk clerk at the hotel just after 3 a.m. The clerk complied, police said, and the suspect, who was about 6-foot-4, fled on foot toward Route 5 with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured in the incident at the hotel, which is located on Ballardvale Drive near the interchange of interstates 91 and 89.

Later on Monday, Hartford Police Chief Phil Kasten said the suspect was still at large.

“We’re seeking the public’s assistance identifying the person or persons responsible,” Kasten said via email.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hartford police at 802-295-9425.
