North Haverhill — A 20-year-old former White River Junction man who served six months in jail for sexually and physically assaulting a girl at the Kilton Public Library in August is back in jail for violating his probation.

Tyler Benson, of Stockbridge, Vt., appeared in Grafton Superior Court on Thursday, and was found guilty of a probation violation, though it wasn’t immediately clear what he did to violate it.

He was sentenced to serve the remainder of his 12-month sentence, which is about four months, Grafton County Attorney Marcie Hornick said on Friday.

In March 2018, Benson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor sexual and simple assault charges.

Police say on Aug. 17, 2017, Benson forced himself on a young teenage girl inside a bathroom at the library and choked her while sexually assaulting her.

Benson must register as a sex offender for 10 years.
