Lincoln, n.h. — Make that four in a row for the Mount Royal Academy boys basketball team.

The streaking Knights hit the road and took down Lin-Wood by a 58-41 final score on Monday night for their fourth win in as many games.

A hot-shooting touch from beyond the 3-point arc sparked Mount Royal to a 19-11 lead after the first quarter.

The Knights made three of their nine 3-pointers in the first eight minutes and shot 9-for-21 from beyond the arc for the contest.

Andrew Normandin led the way for the visitors with 16 points. Louis Larosiliere added 15 points, and Brendan Moorehouse had 11 points. The Knights put up a strong defensive effort, drawing eight charges as a team to help stifle the Lumberjacks’ attack all night. Moorehouse drew five of the charges by himself.

The Knights lost their first six games of the season but are now 4-6 overall, 3-4 in NHIAA play. Mount Royal hosts Wilton-Lyndeborough on Thursday.

Concord — The Eagles trailed, 15-4, at the end of the first quarter and were never able to dig out of that early hole.

Daniel Roberts had 18 points to lead MVCS (1-6). Josh King added 12 and Cade Paquette had eight points. The Eagles got back within striking distance with a 17-10 run of their own in the third quarter.

MVCS visits Blue Mountain tonight.

Hopkinton 53, Mascoma 47

West Canaan — Freshman Ben Seiler had a game-high 20 points to pace the Royals (4-5 overall, 3-4 league) in a close loss to the Hawks.

“It was a breakout game (for Seiler),” Mascoma coach Jim Barry said. “We’ve been waiting for that; he’s been playing so well. He’s hard to guard, a good ball handler and has nice touch.”

Dakota Decocq added 14 points and Connor Thompson had seven. The Royals fell behind early, trailing 15-7 after the first quarter. Mascoma looks to get back .500 at Berlin on Friday.

Concord — The Goodwin sisters combined for 36 points to lead the Eagles (6-1).

Sophomore Sydney Goodwin had 19 points and freshman Hayley Goodwin had 17. Rachel Horner-Richardson added seven points. The Eagles opened the game on a 24-0 run and never looked back.

“A lot of times (so far this season), we’ve played down when not playing strong competition. We all talked about coming out strong and putting it away in the first quarter and they did,” Eagles coach Chris Goodwin said.

MVCS visits Blue Mountain tonight, looking to avenge its only loss of the season to date.

Lincoln, n.h. — The Knights (7-3 overall, 6-2 league) disposed of the host Lumberjacks.

Alexis Matte had 16 points to pace Mount Royal. Sophie LaRose chipped in 13 points, and Jacinta Hogan accounted for the other 11 points for the Knights. Mount Royal scored 10 points in each quarter and led, 20-11, at halftime before holding the Lumberjacks to just six points in the final 16 minutes.

The Knights host Wilton-Lyndeborough on Thursday.

Plainfield, Vt. — The Trojans opened the game on a 16-2 run and never looked back against the Phoenix (1-5).

Sharon coach Gregg Nalette praised the play of Molly Kinnarney, Lydia Eastman and Tori Foster, saying all three played with high energy throughout the game. Olivia Sanford had nine points to pace the Phoenix.

Sharon plays at Mid Vermont Christian on Thursday.

South Royalton — The Wildcats couldn’t keep up with a quick and aggressive Phantoms team, dropping to 3-4 on the season.

Sarah Howe had 11 points for WRV. Sylvie Coltey added six points. The Wildcats trailed, 31-18, at halftime and then the Phantoms scored 13 points in the third quarter to put the game on ice.

WRV hosts Williamstown on Saturday.

Brattleboro 51Hartford 35

White River Junction — The Hurricanes (0-7) are still seeking a first win for new coach Heidi Bushway, but the effort and teamwork appears to be coming along.

Hartford held a 7-6 lead through the first quarter against the Division I Colonels (4-4) before Brattleboro’s quickness took over. Hailey Derosia (12 points) and Laura McKinney (11) paced the visitors.

“We’re starting to work as a team; that’s what we need to do,” Bushway said. “We’re starting to work harder as a team instead of going one on five.”

Hartford’s Kennedy Mullen led all scorers with 14 points, and the Canes’ Bailey Cameron contributed 11. Hartford heads to Mill River on Friday.

West Lebanon — The Raiders were shut out by the defending NHIAA Division III state champion Generals in action at Campion Rink.

Sophomore goalie Hunter Robb made 25 saves for the hosts. The D-II Raiders (4-4 overall, 3-3 league) visit Kingswood on Saturday.
