Otepaa, Estonia
Geraghty-Moats won the fifth race of the 11-event tour, sweeping both the ski jumping and cross country skiing portions of the competition for the first time this season. As a result, the 25-year-old moved back to the top of the tour standings near the season’s mid-point.
The field of 18 women held the jump meet on Friday off Otepaa’s HS97 ramp. Geraghty-Moats won with 114.6 points, jumping 92 meters and earning the best style points from the five-judge panel. It’s the first time this winter that Geraghty-Moats won a Nordic combined jump meet.
That success gave her a 21-second cushion to begin Saturday’s 5K cross country trek. As she has all season, Geraghty-Moats dominated her foes with a winning time of 14 minutes, 5.1 seconds. That ultimately left her with a 53-second victory over Japanese high schooler Ayane Miyazaki and Norway’s Gyda Westvold Hansen, Geraghty-Moats’ closest competitor on the tour to date.
Geraghty-Moats has won all four Continental Cup meets in which she’s started.
She holds a 400-370 edge in series points over Westvold Hansen heading ito another competition today in Estonia.
