Coates’ goal was his second of the season, assisted by Evan Kurash. The Wasps finished the game with a 24-6 advantage in shots on goal but couldn’t find a game-winner after the Colonels scored a late goal to tie the game. Woodstock has been limited to one goal in two of its first four games; it defeated Milton, 1-0, last Saturday.
Woodstock junior goaltender Henry Greene made five saves and has allowed just four goals in four games.
The Wasps, last year’s undefeated VPA Division II champions, improved to 3-0-1 with the deadlock.
Woodstock travels to Hartford’s Wendell A. Barwood Arena to participate in the Bouthillier Holiday Classic on Thursday, playing the host Hurricanes in the opening round.
Bishop Guertin 4, Hanover 2

“Guertin just battled harder,” Hanover head coach Dick Dodds said. “They won more puck battles and wanted it a little bit more than we did.”
Hanover (3-1) entered the game having outscored its opponents, 26-3, in its first three games. Charlie Plottner scored the other goal for the Marauders; Curtis Rice and Matty Gardner finished the game with assists. Ben Plottner made 20 saves.
Hanover takes on Concord in the Manchester Holiday Tournament on Wednesday at JFK Coliseum.
Burlington 3, Hartford 2

“He was outstanding,” Hartford head coach Todd Bebeau said. “He kept the score as close as it was.”
Nick Cameron and Kyle Hamilton scored in the first period for Hartford, which led, 2-1, through the first 15 minutes. The Hurricanes host Woodstock in the Bouthillier Holiday Classic on Thursday.
Thetford 54, Hartford 27
Thetford
Benjamin added eight rebounds and six steals off the bench as Thetford improved to 3-1. Former Chelsea star Kiana Johnson contributed 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Panthers. Grace Davis added 12 points.
The Hurricanes’ Kennedy Mullen had a game-high 16 points in the loss. Biana Severance added six.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday, Thetford hosting Windsor and Hartford visiting Randolph.
Oxbow 45, Rivendell 29

Mason Tomlinson netted three threes for a team-high nine points for Oxbow; Mariah Shumway added eight points and Rachel Spear scored seven. The O’s led, 30-11, at halftime and added to the advantage with a 12-point third quarter.
Adele Tilden led the Raptors with 10 points. “Adele played very well; Jenna Gilbert played well on defense,” first-year Rivendell head coach Dennis Fitzgerald said. “It’s early in the season for us. We’re still adjusting to new systems. (Oxbow) made a lot of threes in the beginning.”
Rivendell (0-3) travels to Bellows Falls on Saturday. Oxbow heads to Blue Mountain on Thursday.

Eddie Bray added nine points for White River Valley, which had a good defensive game and scored many of its baskets in transition. Alex Lober pitched in five points off the bench. The Wildcats host Leland & Gray on Friday.
Hanover 4, Brady-Trinity-West 0

Maggie Lee broke the scoreless tie 28 seconds into the third period, signaling a three-goal rally less than three minutes. Meredith Morhun added two goals and an assist, Violet Sperry netted a goal and Clara Boland finished the game with two assists. Bryn Kable and Emma Tysinger added an assist each. The Marauders’ Rebekah Rudd made seven saves in the shutout, their third straight.
Hanover (4-0) will hold its alumnae game on Wednesday at 5:50 p.m., then hosts its holiday tournament next weekend.

Faye Stevens added a goal and two assists. Emily Dean scored her first varsity goal. Ava Dodson and Bridget Black combined for 14 saves. Woodstock hosts Missisquoi on Thursday.

Freshman Paige Hoegler, normally a defenseman, made her first start in goal and kept the hosts in contention. Concord held a 29-10 shot advantage and led, 2-0, after a period. Lily Barber scored unassisted to pull the hosts within 2-1 with nine minutes remaining in the second stanza, but Lebanon-Stevens-Kearsarge surrendered a goal seconds before the period ended.
“This was by far the best we’ve played,” said 10th-year Raiders coach Brad Shaw, whose team is 2-2. “But we’re not shooting the puck as much as we need to be. We hold on for one last move, and then it’s taken off our stick.”
Brianna Frisbee assisted on Pickman’s goal. The Raiders, who have lost senior goaltender Adrieanna Maccioli for the season because of a knee injury, also skated without defenseman Lilly Gogan, who is on vacation. Lebanon-Stevens-Kearsarge used only three blueliners and its current roster includes no seniors. It hosts Berlin-Gorham at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

“(Pfeiffer) had a really good game,” Hartford head coach Bill Goldsworthy said.

Hanover Boys Fourth,Girls Sixth at Leverone

Lebanon’s Sullivan won the long jump (21-5.5), and teammate Cody Davis was second (4:17.53) in the 1,500-meter run. For Newport, Mason Martell was fourth (8.20) and Jagger Lovely was sixth (8.90) in the 55 hurdles.
Aman won the 1,500 in 5:15.04, helping the Hanover girls to their team finish. Hanover’s 4×200 team of Zoe Onyango, Macy Lawson, Anna Stafford and Abby Feyrer finished third (1:55.97); Onyango also was fifth (15-0.5) in the long jump.
Hanover junior sprinter Kyle Doucette finished third in the 55 dash (6.77 seconds). The 4×200 team of Aidan Ristino, Deveon Martin, Doucette and Dillon Bradley was third (1:39.35), and John Lynch was third in the 3,000 (9:29.56). Distance runner Colm Seigne was fourth in the 1,500 (4:25.92) to round out the Marauders’ scoring.
Oxbow’s Jarret Rock was fourth (6.83) in the 55, Tim Hodges was fifth (8.77) in the 55 hurdles and Calvin Cook was second (40-0.5) in the shot put.
Sharon’s Laila Reimanis took fourth (11:21.61) in the 3,000.

The Canes’ Kennedy Mullen leaped a 15 feet, 9 inches in the long jump. Bethany Davis ran a 5:56.84 in the 1,500 to qualify for the state meet. Clementine Phillip also qualified for the 1,500 with a 6:16 for Hartford.
Windsor Takes Down EssexIn Double Overtime
Colchester, Vt.
“It was pretty interesting,” said Windsor head coach Steve Bly, who experienced his first double overtime in seven years as head coach. “It was stressful on my part.”
Windsor, the No. 2 seed, initially tied with Essex, 158-158, in the championship match. A ninth and 10th roll-off finished with the two teams tied again, 26-26, to force yet another tiebreaker.
“My two closers,” Bly said. “They put it together and got it down.”
The Yellowjackets got the second seed in Bbaker play, Gilbert rolling a 236-211, Frazer a 156-154 and Samantha Erskine a 148-150. Windsor played White River Valley in the opening round, winning in three games (116-138, 112-102, 106-104). Bly pointed to Jasmine Martin and Josh Ducharme, two junior varsity bowlers, who stepped up big.
The Jacks have the week off and travel to Brattleboro on Jan. 5.
