Tyler Marston, of Newport, Vt., pleaded no contest to gross negligent operation of a motor vehicle with serious injury resulting for hitting Alexander Jillson-Corbosiero. Marston pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of the crash and driving with a suspended license, according to court paperwork.
As part of the plea agreement he took last week, the state dropped four other charges: kidnapping; inciting, procuring or hiring another to commit a felony; aggravated assault with a weapon; and simple assault.
Marston was sentenced to one to four years in prison.
His accomplice, Rey Early, 33, of Springfield, Vt., pleaded guilty in October to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Early was sentenced to serve six months to three years.
Early and Marston allegedly picked up Corbosiero that day to smoke marijuana and drove toward Okemo. Early pointed a shotgun at Corbosiero while Marston drove to Ludlow, Vt., and Early allegedly threatened Corbosiero at gunpoint to commit the burglary, according to police.
Marston and Early left the residence and Marston hit Corbosiero with an SUV. Corbosiero suffered injuries that put him in the intensive care unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, police said.
