Dedham, Mass. — The Kimball Union Academy boys hockey team closed out its annual Flood-Marr Tournament visit with a 4-0 blanking of Milton Academy on Sunday morning.

Zach Paputsakis made 18 saves and was supported by goals from four different scorers. Arlo Merritt and Sullivan Mack staked the Wildcats to a 2-0 lead after one period, to which Paul Dore and Zach Whitehead added third-stanza tallies to put the game away.

KUA’s Kyle Penney was named to the all-tournament team. KUA (7-3-0) is on hiatus until a Dec. 28 trip to Buffalo, N.Y., for the Nichols Tournament.

KUA Third at Rivers Tournament

Weston, Mass. — Kimball Union wrapped Rivers Holiday Tournament play with a third-place finish.

KUA won two of its three games on the weekend, opening with a 67-57 win over Salisbury on Friday behind 24 points from Enoch Cheeks. Host Rivers notched a 71-69 decision over the Wildcats later on Friday, using six second-half 3-pointers to prevail.

KUA claimed the tourney consolation match with Beaver Country Cay on Saturday, 83-45, behind 30 points from Cheeks. Kimball Union (6-2) meets Cheshire later this week before going on holiday break.
