Laramie, 50, was released on personal recognizance bail following his Monday morning arraignment on the felony charges in Grafton Superior Court in North Haverhill. Laramie, who resigned in February 2016 and gave up his education credentials in October of the same year, is alleged to have diverted funds from the school in Hanover, while misrepresenting that he was using the funds for professional development. This allegedly occurred four times between January 2014 and March 2016, according to charges filed in November of this year.
The indictments don’t specify how much money Laramie allegedly diverted, but indicate it was more than $1,500 apiece for two counts, and between $1,000 and $1,500 on the two other counts. The school district, which declined to pursue charges, was cut a check by it’s insurance company for $33,850 in the summer of 2016.
The date of his next hearing was not immediately available.
