Detroit — Jimmy Butler scored 38 points, and the Philadelphia 76ers overcame Joel Embiid’s absence Friday night, rallying from a 15-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Detroit Pistons, 117-111.

Blake Griffin had 31 points and 12 rebounds for Detroit, but the Pistons squandered their big third-quarter lead, as well as a six-point advantage in the fourth. The 76ers rested Embiid, who missed his first game of the season, but Detroit couldn’t take advantage of the big man’s absence.

Butler, who also scored 38 points in a loss at Toronto on Wednesday night, had 26 in the second half Friday.

The Pistons led 71-56 in the third before Philadelphia went on a 22-5 run to take the lead. Detroit was up 98-92 in the fourth, but the 76ers went on a 16-2 tear to take control.

The Pistons were up 100-97 when Detroit coach Dwane Casey received a technical foul arguing a foul call. JJ Redick made the free throw, and then added a 3-pointer to put Philadelphia ahead to stay. The 76ers then ran off another seven points in a row.

Griffin received a technical of his own in the last couple minutes of the game.

Nets 106, Raptors 105 (ot)

New York — D’Angelo Russell scored 29 points, including six in overtime, and Brooklyn snapped an eight-game losing streak.

Brooklyn picked the most unlikely way to end its skid, snapping a 12-game slide against Toronto with its first victory over the Raptors since April 3, 2015.

Pacers 112, Magic 90

Orlando, Fla. — Bojan Bogdanovic scored 26 points and Cory Joseph added 15 to help Indiana beat Orlando.

Thaddeus Young had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Tyreke Evans scored 11 points for Indiana. The Pacers have beaten the Magic eight straight times and 15 of the last 16 meetings.

Hornets 113, Nuggets 107

Charlotte, n.c. — Kemba Walker had 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds, fellow point guard Tony Parker added 19 points off the bench and Charlotte snapped the Nuggets’ seven-game win streak.

Marvin Williams chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who ended a three-game losing streak.

Kings 129, Cavaliers 110

Cleveland — De’Aaron Fox had 30 points and 12 assists, and Sacramento beat Cleveland.

Buddy Hield added 25 points for the Kings, who led by as many as 25 after the game was tied at 66 at halftime. Marvin Bagley III scored 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting after missing two games due to back spasms.

Fox and Hield each hit two 3-pointers in the first five minutes of the third quarter.

Cavs, Bucks Make Trade

Cleveland — The Cavaliers agreed to a trade with Milwaukee that will return fan favorite Matthew Dellavedova to Cleveland along with forward John Henson and a pair of draft picks in 2021.

The Bucks will get veteran point guard George Hill and forward Sam Dekker from the Cavs, a person familiar with the deal told the Associated Press. Milwaukee has agreed to trade Dekker to the Washington Wizards for center Jason Smith and a future second-round pick.

The first-round pick in 2021 is protected, the person said.

Dellavedova’s scrappiness endeared him to Cleveland fans during his three seasons with the Cavs, who didn’t re-sign the player known as “Delly” after winning the 2016 title.
