Hanover — Less than 48 hours after flying back from an 84-65 defeat at San Francisco on Saturday, the Dartmouth College men’s basketball team hopped another plane to play in Ireland at the Belfast Classic, which begins today.

Today’s game, against Marist, and Friday’s, against either Albany or LIU-Brooklyn, will be the first ever outside of the 50 states for the Big Green.

The Marist game tips off at 11:30 a.m. and will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

Dartmouth’s is led in scoring by sophomores Adrease Jackson (14.0 ppg) and Chris Knight (13.5).

The Big Green is second among NCAA Division I teams with 13.5 3-pointers per game and is 10th in 3-point percentage (43.5).

Marist was picked to finish in the middle of the MAAC pack this year — sixth out of the 11 teams — one year after going 6-25 overall and 4-14 in the league.

Colby-Sawyer 111, Rivier 76

Nashua — Dana Bean scored 25 points as Colby-Sawyer (3-1) routed Rivier (1-5).

The Chargers’ Jourdain Bell scored 23 points to move into 17th on the all-time scoring list with 1,145.

Boys Basketball

KUA 102, Bradford Chr. 76

Haverhill, Mass. — Enoch Cheeks scored 34 points, 20 in the first half, as Kimball Union routed Bradford Christian Academy in its season opener.

The Wildcats were 9-for-12 from the 3-point line.

Jay Elmore added 27 points and Will Engelhardt 22 for KUA, which visits Deerfield Academy on Saturday.

VPA to Hold Mental Health Conference

Colchester, Vt. — The Vermont Principals Association will be conducting a conference on student-athletes and mental health on Friday at St. Michaels College in Colchester. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. at the Dion Student Center.

Topics include mental health, concussions and the social media’s influence on students’ well-being.
