Tunbridge, Vt. —
Lorraine was born on Dec. 31, 1930, in Norwood, Mass. to Joseph and Gunborg (Kallstrom) Conradson. She attended school in Norwood, Mass. where she graduated in 1948. She maintained many friendships over the years and enjoyed her connection to her special girl friends.
Lorraine worked at the Factory Insurance Company of Norwood and Ratheon in Westwood, Mass. for 10 years. Lorraine married Vernal P. “Stub” Palmer on June 16, 1962. Together they made their home in Tunbridge, where they lived and raised their two children Joseph and Shelley. Lorraine worked at the Tunbridge Central School for 27 years, where she was a valued and appreciated secretary. She was known to the children as “Grammy Palmer” and will be missed deeply by the community.
Lorraine enjoyed participating in the 4-H as a leader for many years and was a long time supporter of the Tunbridge Central School.
She most enjoyed, her family and friends, watching wrestling (her favorite wrestler was HBK Shawn Michaels), listening to Elvis Presley and watching a good scary movie. She enjoyed word searches, going out to eat and traveling. She loved to play cards, cook and doing anything with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the holidays and hosted many meals for her family and friends. She loved Christmas, especially watching Frosty the Snowman.
Lorraine is survived by daughter Shelley Barnaby and her children Bryon, Brooke, and Tyler Barnaby as well as Joseph’s children, Joseph Palmer Jr. and Tiffany Palmer. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Conradson of Sharon, Mass. and by her sister-in-laws Dolores, Frances and Jacqueline and many nieces, nephews and her Mass. girl friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband, Stub, in 1997 and her son, Joseph, in 2001.
There will be no public calling hours, however, a memorial funeral service will be held on Oct. 27, at 1 p.m., at the Tunbridge Church and burial will follow in the Tunbridge Village Cemetery. A fellowship will follow at the Tunbridge Town Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tunbridge Fire Department or the Tunbridge Town Library.
