Etna, N.H. —
Jerry was born in Hampton, Ga. on July 23, 1947, the fifth and youngest child of the late Squire and Sarah (Fagin) Nunnally.
Jerry left his small hometown for the first time in 1965 to attend Dillard University in New Orleans, La. This would prove to be a pivotal decision, as this is where he met, fell in love with, persistently courted and happily married Brenda Robinet who would be his wife for the next 48 years.
Jerry quickly found his passion was in the field of fundraising and development. As newlyweds, Jerry and his wife moved to Hanover, N.H. in 1970 where he began his first stint in Dartmouth College’s Development department. His family and career would flourish, taking them back to Louisiana and on to Illinois, Massachusetts, California and back to New Hampshire over his 45 year career in this field. During this time, Jerry played a critical role in the Development departments of Dartmouth College, Harvard University and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Throughout his career he returned to Dartmouth College three separate times and would ultimately retire from Dartmouth after over 20 years with the college.
Jerry’s friends and family will fondly remember his passion for tennis, classic cars, endless jokes, poetry and his love and support of his wife, children, grandchildren and the many people who touched his life.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda, his son Martin Robinet Nunnally and his wife Keturah of Yonkers, N.Y., his daughter, Adia Fagin (Nunnally) Finn, her husband Richard and their daughters Skylar and Mirabelle of Marblehead, Mass., and his daughter Amanda Rainey Nunnally of Albuquerque, N.M. He is also survived by his sister Hazel Caldwell and her husband Bob, his brother Solomon Nunnally and his wife Barbara, his sister Doris (Nunnally) Scales as well as many nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his brother Benjamin Nunnally.
