Hanover — The Dartmouth College women’s soccer team used three goals in fewer than three minutes on Monday night to defeat Marist, 3-1, in a nonleague match at Whitey Burnham Field.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 18th minute and made that lead last through halftime. However, Dartmouth junior Zoe Boocock struck during the 56th minute, followed by freshman Izzy Glennon and senior Remy Borinsky during the 58th minute.

The Big Green enjoyed a 23-9 shot advantage and improved to 8-4-2 while dropping the Red Foxes to 7-7-1. Junior goalkeeper Lorna McElrath posted her first career victory.

“I’m proud of the way that we responded tonight after going down a goal,” fifth-year Dartmouth coach Ron Rainey said. “It was great to get contributions from many different players.”

The hosts took eight of the first half’s 12 shots but surrendered the stanza’s only goal. Dartmouth then took 15 of the second half’s 20 shots and wrested control of the game. Boocock scored on a high, arcing kick after receiving an Alyssa Neuberger pass and, two minutes later, Glennon knocked in a Borinsky cross. Twenty-two seconds after that, Borinsky was fouled in the box and converted the ensuing penalty kick for her fifth goal of the season.

Dartmouth, 2-2-1 in Ivy League play, visits Ancient Eight rival Columbia (6-6-1, 2-2) on Saturday.
