Goffstown, N.H. — Bette Lancaster, 85, former long-time resident of Hanover and New London, N.H., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018.

Bette was born in Chelsea, Mass. on April 17, 1933, to Herbert and Alice (DeCraney) Wills. She grew up in Saugus, Mass. In 1955, Bette graduated from the Melrose Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for 30 years before her retirement from the Hitchcock Clinic in Hanover.

Bette cherished her family and was devoted to her friends and community service. She loved volunteering at the library, traveling, photography, and summer performances at the New London Barn Playhouse.

Bette is survived by her children: Janice, David, W. James; her sister Roberta; brother-in-law Charles, and their families. She was predeceased by her son Dana in 2017 and her beloved husband of 64 years, William (Bill) Lancaster in April 2018. Bette’s life will be privately celebrated by her family.
