Edgewater, Fla. — Victor Andrew Elder died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at the age of 89, after a long illness with Dementia, Alzheimers and Parkinson’s diseases. He was the son of the late Clifford and Lena Elder of Etna, N.H.

Vic graduated from Hanover High School in 1947, and earned a degree in finance and accounting from Bentley College. He went to work for Granite State Electric Company after college, retiring 42 years later. Vic lived in Lebanon, N.H. from 1947-1983, moved to Londonderry, N.H. in 1984, and after his retirement split his time between N.H., Maine and Florida.

Vic was very active in several area service organizations. He joined the Masonic Order, Franklin Lodge No. 6, in Lebanon, N.H. Later he became a member of the Bektash ShrineTemple in Concord, N.H. where he was elected Potentate for that organization in 1986. He served on the Board of Governors for the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl football game for many years.

Vic was predeceased by his brother Stanley in 2009 and his wife, Beverly, in 2010.

Survivors include his children: Ruth E. Sernak, Andrew V. Elder, Gary Tremblay, Renee Armand, Robin Clester, and Kristie Meola; his siblings: Marguerite Gorman-Fray, James Elder, and William Elder; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, his brother-in-law, Roger Duhaime, and a sister in-law, Linda Culvert.

The family will be holding a “Celebration of Life” service at the First Baptist Church of Hanover in Etna, NH, 195 Etna Road, Etna, NH 03750, Oct. 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. Condolences may be sent to Vic’s family at his residence, 4372 Indian River Drive W., Edgewater, FL. 32141.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater, 4140 S. Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater, FL 32141 or Shriners Burns Hospital in Boston, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114.
