Newport — Sullivan County Democrats are holding a fundraiser and barbecue on the Town Common on Sunday to give the public a chance to meet state and legislative candidates.

Guest speakers include U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster, D-N.H., and New Hampshire Democratic Chairman Ray Buckley. Democratic gubernatorial candidates Molly Kelly and Steve Marchand are expected to attend along with House and Senate candidates from Sullivan County.

The event runs from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, and tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, for adults, $5 for students. Children under 12 may attend for free.

The Democratic barbecue follows a similar Sullivan GOP event at the Newport Common on Saturday. The primary is on Tuesday.
