Lebanon, N.H. — Kenneth P. Louzier Sr., 87, of Lebanon passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Kenneth was born in Lebanon May 7, 1931, to Lorenzo Louzier and Olive (Covell) Louzier.

Kenneth attended Lebanon High School where he was the Treasurer during his Junior and Senior years. While in high school he played baseball, track, and basketball, downhill skiing and was a member of the 1948 undefeated football team. Kenneth also was a member of the high school choir and was named best dancer by his classmates.

Following graduation in 1949, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years as a submariner on the USS Medregal. He was recalled to active duty to the Philadelphia NAVAL Shipyard due to the Korean War. While serving, Ken met and married Joan Feenstra on Sept. 13, 1952. Joan moved with Kenneth to Newbury, N.J., while he completed his tour of duty. In late 1953, Ken and Joan returned to Lebanon to raise their family.

Once settled in Lebanon, Ken worked in the woolen mills. Following that, he joined New England Tel &Tel. He retired 30 years later under AT&T ownership. Ken worked on the electrical construction of the Dartmouth College Kiewit Computation Center in the 1960s. Ken also worked on many projects at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, N.H. During his career with the phone company, he served as Steward on the Executive Board of his Local IBEW of New Hampshire 2320, as well as President.

Ken had many interests. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, music, politics and he was also an avid reader and loved solving crossword puzzles. Summer gardening was a passion as well as tending to his raspberries and blueberries. He especially enjoyed spending the summer weekends with his wife Joan and his children at Newfound Lake. Kenneth loved spending time with his grandchildren teaching and watching them grow.

Kenneth is predeceased by his wife Joan of 65 years and his infant son Robert James, father, mother, sister Gerry and brother Richard. He is survived by his sister Claire. Kenneth is survived by his children, Donna McLain, Kenneth Louzier Jr., Deborah Louzier, Mark Louzier, Michelle Louzier and Suzan Louzier; grandchildren Matthew Louzier, John West IV, Sarah (West) Guadagno, Alison Wahrenberger, Sandy Louzier, Kenneth Louzier III, Annie Louzier and Kalen Mullin; and great-granddaughter Liliana Louzier. Kenneth is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

At Kenneth’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.
