Pelletier, a Lebanon High graduate and Lebanon resident, found himself with a field-best 7-under-par for medalist honors after two days of stroke play at the 115th New Hampshire Golf Association’s amateur golf championship on Monday at Hanover Country Club, shooting a 4-under-par 67 on Day 2 for a combined, two-day score of 135. He edged Concord’s Matthew Paradis, the Day 1 stroke play leader and Southern New Hampshire University senior, by one stroke for the No. 1 seed in match play, which begins today and runs through Friday.
Pelletier shot seven birdies on Day 2, including a three-stroke second hole that gave him trouble on Day 1. He also birdied the last three holes for the second consecutive day for the round’s low score. Pelletier also was most recently the low amateur at last month’s Vermont Open. He shot a 3-under-par 68 on Sunday, one stroke off the leader Paradis, and was one of only six golfers to finish the two-day qualifying under Hanover’s par 71.
Dartmouth College graduate James Pleat was one of them, finishing his second day with a 1-under-par 70 after shooting even par on Day 1. Ryan Tombs (67-69), Brandon Gillis (69-68) and Ryan Brown (67-73) also qualified with under-par scores.
Hanover High graduate Nate Choukas finished stroke play tied for 10th, adding on more stroke to his even-par 71 finish on Sunday. Bill Vielleux, the first-time N.H. Amateur competitor from Montcalm, also qualified at 2-over, shooting an identical 72 on both days. Andy Hunnewell, from Carter, qualified at 4-over, improving on his Day 1 score by two strokes. Baker Hill’s Drew Jankowski (75-73) Hanover’s Ryerson Stinson (78-70), Hanover’s Phin Choukas (74-75), Phil Pleat (77-73) and Hanover’s Scott Peters (76-75) also qualified in the top 64 golfers for match play.
Bobby Williams, a New London resident and Lake Sunapee Country Club member, missed the 12-over-par cut by one stroke, finishing his two days 13-over 155. Claremont pair T.J. Barber (77-79) and Zach Melcher (74-83), Baker Hill member and former N.H. Amateur winner Nick MacDonald (78-80) Hanover’s Sylvain Foster (80-79), Lebanon High graduate Tyler Silver (83-79) and Newport’s Steve Haselton (81-85) also missed the cutoff.

Judd Alexander, Jake Reznek, Mark Rolston-Daniel, Will Blinkhorn, Aiden Rowley, Paige Karl an David Stoffel all found the back of the net for Touchline. Bouti Gallino and Charlie Adams each had two assists and C.J. Wheelan made four saves. Upper Valley United goalkeeper Liz Pelton made 16 saves in the loss.
