Hanover, N.H. —
She was born Kathleen Andrea Linkous on Jan. 20, 1945 in Daytona Beach, Florida and grew up in Florida and Vermont.
Kathy graduated from Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach in 1963, then attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
She moved to Burlington, Vt., where she worked for General Electric for a time, then moved to the Hanover, NH area and worked in the English Department at Dartmouth College.
In 1977, she married Fred Tefft of Hanover N.H., where they raised their two sons.
While at Dartmouth College Kathy worked as an Administrative Assistant in the following departments:
1989 – 1991 John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding.
1991 – 1993 Provost Office
1992 – 1993 Geisel Medical School.
1994 – 2010 Dartmouth Athletics in Men’s Intercollegiate Programs.
After her retirement in 2010 Kathy continued to work as a Boss Tennis Center Monitor in Dartmouth Athletics from 2010 to 2016.
Kathy enjoyed tennis, kayaking, horseback riding, gardening, hiking and photography. She was a volunteer with High Horses, a therapeutic riding program.
Kathy is survived by her husband Fred of Hanover; two sons, Andrew of Watertown, Mass., and his wife, Ann, their son Abel, and daughter Iris; Sheldon of Hanover and North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Linkous of Rutland, Vt., and Barbara Carter of Pinellas Park, Fla.; two nieces, Norie Jenkins Karnig of Pinellas Park and Liz Jenkins of Camden, Maine; and cousins.
A memorial service is planned fora later date.
