Plymouth, Mass. — Notre Dame’s Cameron Junker threw three-hit shutout ball over six innings and his Plymouth teammates spotted him a seven-run lead before settling for a 7-4 win over the Upper Valley Nighthawks in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game on Friday night at Forges Field.

Junker (3-0) fanned four and walked three. The Pilgrims (11-6) scored twice in the first inning off Upper Valley starter Reid VanScoter (Binghamton) and chased him with a four-run fifth. Tyler Wyatt (Grand Canyon) had the big night for the hosts, hitting a grand slam on the third pitch from Nighthawks reliever Jordy Allard after the Hartford High grad relieved VanScoter in the fifth.

Anthony Quirion (Lamar) and Bryant Bowen (Southern Mississippi) homered for Upper Valley. Quirion, Alvin Melendez (Fordham) and Eric Feliz (Notre Dame) had two hits each for the Hawks, who host the Valley Blue Sox tonight at 6:30 p.m.
