Grafton, N.H. —
Anna grew up in Carlisle, Mass. on her parent’s dairy farm. After graduating from Concord High School, she earned her Registered Nurse degree at New England Baptist Hospital. She married Robert Johnson and raised three children in Acton and Carlisle Mass. Anna did special-duty nursing and nursing at Emerson Hospital and various nursing homes, including Rivercrest in Concord. After her husband’s retirement, they relocated to Grafton in 1985.
Anna was a dedicated mother co-leading a 4H club and teaching first-aid skills to Girl Scouts. She went on many family camping and hiking expeditions throughout northern New England and eastern Canada.
In later years she enjoyed traveling with her husband Bob to far away places, including Siberia and the Lake District of Chile and Argentina.
Anna is survived by her three children, Marilyn Malmquist of Corinth, Vt., Roger Johnson and wife, Jeannette, of Manchester, N.H., and Karen Johnson of Grafton, N.H., a grandson, Nathan Malmquist of Lebanon, N.H., a brother, Carl Andreassen of Carlisle, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Robert Johnson, her sisters, Jennie Acker and Esther Kelley, and a grandson, Shaun Gross.
There will be a private graveside service after which family and friends are invited to Anna’s memorial service at the Canaan United Methodist Church on July 28, 2018 at 1 p.m.
