Mentor, Ohio —
Tucker was born and raised in Oswego, N.Y., the son of the late John M. and Geraldine B. Rossiter. He graduated from Oswego High School in 1967. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served two years in active duty, spending the majority of that time in the Panama Canal.
After his stint in the Navy, Tucker came home to Oswego and worked for Auxiliary Services at SUNY Oswego from 1970 until 1983. In 1983 he accepted a job at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. He spent the next 27 years at Dartmouth in various administrative capacities before retiring as Director of Dartmouth Dining Services in 2010.
Tucker was an avid golfer, and loved playing as often as he could, and he could always be found tuning in to whatever golf tournament was on tv that weekend. Tucker’s other big passion was the Boston Red Sox. He loved watching games, taking his kids to games every summer when they were younger, and even visited Spring Training in Florida twice. His love of the Red Sox started at age 9, when his grandfather arranged for Tucker to meet Red Sox legend Ted Williams.
Tucker is survived by his amazing wife, Linda; his daughter, Amy, of Wickliffe, Ohio; his son, Matt, of Somersworth, N.H.; and his four grandchildren, Sam, Lauryn, Jack and Anna. Tucker is also survived by one brother, George, and his wife Maureen, of Hudson, Mass.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tucker’s name can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
