Lebanon — No one was injured when a fire started on the roof of Timken Aerospace around noontime on Tuesday.

Lebanon Fire Chief Chris Christopoulos said his department arrived at the Mechanic Street business to find a fire between the roofing materials near an exhaust pipe, according to a news release.

Crews determined the fire started when a vent pipe malfunctioned and “allowed heat to transfer and smolder the wooden roof deck over time,” the release states.

Lebanon, Hanover and Hartford firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
