Thetford, Vt. —
After 27 years of military service, El and Don became foundational in Thetford as they developed and managed the community’s Treasure Island on Lake Fairlee, a beloved family retreat.
El was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt whose family passion extended to her community. She was honored as “Most Outstanding Citizen” by her friends and neighbors in Thetford.
Having been an RN and operating room nurse, she taught operating room technique at Mary Hitchcock Hospital. She will be most remembered as a strong family and community advocate having had a full life committed and dedicated to others.
No services or ceremonies are planned.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that time or donations be made to your local food bank, it was her way.
In addition to her children, El is survived by four grandchildren: Mark Andrew, Ian, Aaron and Sarah and numerous nieces and nephews.
