Fairlee
Beginning at 1 p.m., people can gather for tea, finger sandwiches and cookies while watching clips from the celebrations. The free event is being hosted by Friends of the Fairlee Public Library and attendees are encouraged to bring a snack to share.
The tea party will be reminiscent of the ones that used to take place at the library prior to when a new season of the TV show Downton Abbey was set to start.
“We would play the last episode of the previous season,” library director Samantha Hickman said. The tea parties were always well attended.
Hickman herself is excited about the wedding and remembers watching the last one, despite caring for a young child.
“She was up most of the night but I was still up at 5 a.m. to watch that wedding,” Hickman said with a laugh.
There’s a lot more fans like Hickman. Join them on Saturday in Fairlee.
