Lebanon
The walk is set to start at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The route will begin and end at the Upper Valley Senior Center in downtown Lebanon. Participants also have the option to run the route as a 5K. Now in its fifth year, the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council sponsored event previously has taken place in Littleton, N.H.
“We wanted to try it some place different,” said Jill Vahey, executive director of the Upper Valley Senior Center. “We like to rotate them around so we can give people in different areas opportunity to come to the march.”
Last year, about 200 people attended the event, Vahey said. In addition to the walk and run, there will be vendors, a barbecue and activities for children, including face painting. The fundraiser primarily supports home-delivered meals throughout the county and participants are encouraged to make a monetary donation.
“It’s a family event,” Vahey said. “We hope that the weather is going to cooperate with us.”
