Lebanon — A new group in Lebanon is teaming up with a regional coalition aimed at preventing substance misuse and suicide in the Upper Valley to host a community conversation regarding trauma on Monday.

The discussion organized by Lebanon Partners United for Safety and Health will focus on preventing, responding to and recovering from traumatic events, according to a flyer from All Together, the regional nonprofit coalition. It was prompted by questions arising from last September’s fatal shooting of a patient at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the impact it had on the community, according to Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello.

Panelists will include officials from the city of Lebanon, Lebanon School District, Dartmouth-Hitchcock and other public health groups.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with networking and refreshments. The conversation itself, which is open to those 14 and older, will begin at 6 p.m.

The event is being held at the Hypertherm training room, located at 71 Heater Road in Lebanon.
