Las Vegas, Nev. — Thelma M. Cutting passed peacefully with her sons Gary & Arnold Cutting and Pastor Stevens by her side at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from ailing health. She was born on July 31, 1929. Thelma was the only child born to Henry & Lilla Bly Cooper formerly of Route 103B in Sunapee, N.H. She later met and married her husband William N. Cutting Sr. and together they raised six children.

Thelma had traveled across the country by car with Bill and their five children to California where they all lived for many years (son Gary was the only child born in California) and then later to settle down in Las Vegas. She loved playing the penny slots and eating out at buffets with her husband and living across from Nellis AFB watching the “Thunderbirds” flying over in formation. Thelma enjoyed music, reading, crossword puzzles, writing poetry and the love for her many dogs she had over the years. She was a loving mother, wife and loyal friend. Thelma had a wonderful sense of humor that to this day brings a smile to all of us in remembering her. The family also wishes to give a special thanks to longtime family friend Janice Glodfelter of Boise, Idaho for all of the kindness she showed our mother over the years with visiting and calling her on a regular basis. Our Mother loved her dearly and thought of her as her own daughter.

Thelma was predeceased by husband William N. Cutting Sr., and her son William N. Cutting Jr. (Billy) who passed in June 2017. She would often say that there was nothing worse than a parent losing a child before it was their own time to go.

Thelma is survived by daughters Donna Bettinger and husband Tim of Boise, Idaho, Martha Norris of Newport, N.H., and Amber Barnette and husband Richard of Camden, Del. She is also survived by sons Arnold Cutting of Las Vegas and Gary Cutting and his wife Heather of Milwaukee, Ore. She is survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
