Hanover, N.H. — Gordon Williamson of Hanover died of natural causes on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at the age of 78. He was born and raised in Chicago and earned an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, a graduate degree in Physics from Brown University, and a law degree from Harvard University. He worked as an Intellectual Property lawyer in Boston before joining the staff of Byte magazine in the 1970’s.

In his retirement, he founded a non-profit organization supporting artisans in Rwanda, authored a career guide for young lawyers, and volunteered his time for the Dartmouth athletics department.

His wife, Virginia Williamson (nee Londner), died in 2015 after 37 years of marriage. Gordon is survived by his brother, Allan Williamson of Banner Elk, N.C.; his daughter, Lianna Dunten (nee Williamson) of Hanover; his son, Derek Williamson of Bradford, Vt.; his step-daughter, Tully MacAlpine (nee Green) of Sarasota, Fla.; and his grandchildren, Maxwell Dunten, Aristotle Cardona Williamson, and Zafina Cardona Williamson.
