Hanover — The Hanover Police Department is offering to host active shooter response training courses at Hanover businesses, organizations and churches, according to a news release issued on Thursday.

The courses will teach participants strategies to best react in the event that an active shooter takes over a building.

The course, titled “Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events,” teaches the “Avoid, Deny, Defend” model, the release states.

People interested in hosting a free training session should call Hanover police at 603-640-3327 or email Elizabeth.Rathburn@HanoverNH.org.
