Hanover
Vincelette was charged with resisting arrest and simple assault in December 2016 after an altercation with officers with the Hanover Police Department and Grafton County Sheriff’s Office, who were assisting town workers in clearing belongings of Vincelette’s from a town-owned public trail.
He pleaded not guilty on both charges, and was found not guilty of simple assault. A Lebanon Circuit Court judge handed down a guilty verdict for resisting arrest in July. Vincelette began an appeal to Superior Court, which later was remanded to the lower court because of an error in classifying the charge, Lebanon clerk Pamela Kozlowski said.
The veteran and self-styled conservationist, who was born in 1956, must now await sentencing. As a Class B misdemeanor, resisting arrest is unlikely to result in jail time, Kozlowski said.
