Lebanon, N.H. —
Steve was born on Sept. 6, 1931, to Winston Sr. and Mildred (St. Croix) Churchill in Hartford, Vt. He joined the U.S. Army in 1949 and fought in the Korean Conflict, after which he received a Purple Heart and was honorably discharged in June of 1952. Steve returned home to marry his sweetheart, Rosemarie Bagley of Lebanon, on July 19, 1952. Together they raised four children.
He had numerous jobs and especially loved working for the Boston and Maine Railroad. He retired from the town of Hanover Shuttle Bus Service in November of 1991. Steve was a self-taught musician, playing the pedal steel Guitar in many country bands. Other interests included, Model railroading, astronomy, flying and photography.
Along with his parents, Steve was predeceased by two sisters June Churchill and Jacqueline Putnam and two brothers, Wallace and Peter Churchill and son in law, William Tourville.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rosemarie and his four children, Barbara (Churchill) Tourville of Canaan, Diane (Churchill) Guay and her husband Peter of Enfield, Wayne Churchill and wife Tina of West Lebanon and Gary Churchill and wife Sheri of Lebanon. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
