Windsor
Senior center Adam Stapleton had a season-high 16 points, classmate Seth Balch sank four 3-pointers as part of a 14-point night and the Jacks staved off foul trouble for a 63-59 win over the Panthers at Windsor High School.
Windsor improved to 3-0; Thetford is 1-1.
The Jacks executed aggressive man-to-man defense, helping them build a double-digit lead in the third quarter but also leading to foul calls. Ben Meagher fouled out, and fellow frontcourt players Stapleton and Dakota Sanderson combined for six more fouls.
The balanced Panthers had five players score between eight and 12 points: Ethan Steingas (12), Alex Emerson (10), Dylan Thorburn (10), Eli Dunnet (9) and Lawson Ouellette (8).
Windsor’s 12-for-19 performance from the free throw line helped salt the game away. The Panthers were 9-for-13 from the stripe.
The teams meet again on Dec. 30 at Thetford Academy’s Vaughan Gym.
