Coates, a junior, scored twice in each period to finish with a career-high six goals in the Wasps’ 10-3 win at Harwood.
“Her whole line played really well together, really the whole team,” said Woodstock assistant coach Kelley Ruch. “(Harwood) is a rebuilding team and we only led 3-1 after the first period, which I think kind of lit a fire under us. We were up 7-2 (at second intermission).”
Coates added two assists, while Anna Hepler had two goals and three assists and Lauren Forgione — the team’s lone senior and captain — had a goal and three assists.
Faye Stevens added a goal and an assist for the Wasps, while goalie Bridgit Black made 11 stops.
Woodstock plays its home opener Wednesday against Northfield.

Hartford led 13-9 after one quarter, but Lake Region seized a 25-20 lead at halftime before outscoring the Canes 17-3 in the third to pull away. Hartford faces Williamstown in the first round of the U-32 tournament on Wednesday.

Senior Kate Letkewicz led Dartmouth with 15 points and Cy Lippold and Emily Slagle combined for 22 points. The Black Bears anwered with four players in double figures and scored 20 points off of turnovers.

The visitors used a three-goal second period to gain distance after taking a 1-0 lead on Tanner Jago’s first-period score. Kyle Schmidt, Drew Callin, Jake Kauppila and Luke Santerno provided Bentley’s other goals.
Tim Shoup broke the shutout for Dartmouth.

Freshmen Toby Harding and Reg Anderson and sophomore Sean Oen all won their respective matches, 3-0. Senior Jack Harvey struggled in the first game, falling 12-10, before posting a 3-1 win.

Women Win at Home
Hanover
Rothwell finished with 28 of the Big Green’s 172 points, adding eight with a runner-up in the long jump. Katie Laskowski and Kayla Gilding were 1-2 in the 400 run. Abby Livingston and Annalisa Corwe did the same in the mile.
Dartmouth’s men took second behind UNH by just six points, 157-151.
Donovan Spearman led the way with wins in the 60 and 200 dashes. The Big Green also swept the top two spots in the 400 and 500 runs.
