Hanover — Liberty Utilities said about half of this morning’s 680 outages in Hanover have been restored as of 12:15 p.m.

The outage affected the downtown area and parts of Dartmouth College. Spokesman John Shore said the rest of the power is expected to be turned on by 1 p.m.

Police were directing traffic on Main Street while the stoplights were out of service.

The initial outage affected 19 percent of Liberty’s customers in Hanover.
