Lebanon, N.H. — Elvin L. Batcher, 87, died Wednesday Nov. 15, 2017. He was born in Albany, N.Y. to the late Howard M. & Charlotte M. (Oliver) Batcher. Elvin grew up in New York where he worked on the family farm and washed windows in New York City. He served in the Army during the Korean war. Following his discharge, he returned home where he met and married his wife Faye M. Follensbee. They settled on the Meriden Road in Lebanon where they began their family. 

Elvin worked for many years at the Tip Top Bakery in White River Junction, Vt. When they closed he went to work for the Hartford High School which he retired from. He was a member of the Lebanon Elks and enjoyed bowling, playing dominos and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Faye Batcher of Lebanon, three children Lonnie Wescott and his wife Kelly of Enfield. Patricia Oakes and husband Robert of Lebanon and Linda Duval and husband Michael of Cornish, three siblings Shirley Batcher, Patricia Sitcer and Frances Calhoun, grandchildren Nicole Wescott, Amy Wescott, Jennifer Labbie and Bobby Oakes, great grandchildren Kayden Wescott, Kiya Wescott, Madison Labbie and Brenna Labbie, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers.

Family and friends are invited to Elvin’s memorial calling hours at the Ricker funeral home in Lebanon on Sunday Nov. 19, from 11 a.m  to 12 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
