Daniel Cowdrey faced a judge on Monday and entered pleas to reckless manslaughter and reckless conduct. He remains out on bail.
Police say Cowdrey was under the influence and driving the wrong way on Interstate 89 in May 2016 when he hit a car driven by 34-year-old Ellynn Koelsch, of Cranston, R.I. She died in the collision and her young son suffered serious injuries.
Cowdrey also is accused of causing another crash that evening on the Exit 19 off-ramp.
Cowdrey faces a total of six charges. His next hearing hasn’t yet been scheduled.
