Boston — Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving has a broken bone in his face and is doubtful for their next game.

The team called the fracture minor.

Irving left Friday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets in the first quarter after taking an inadvertent elbow to the face from teammate Aron Baynes. Irving was bleeding from the nose as he was escorted to the locker room.

Also on Saturday, the Celtics said Al Horford probably would be able to return for this afternoon’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

The Celtics have won 11 straight games, beating the Hornets on Friday night despite playing most of the game without Horford, Irving and Gordon Hayward.

Saturday’s Games

Pelicans 111, Clippers 103

New Orleans — DeMarcus Cousins had 35 points and 15 rebounds and Anthony Davis added 25 points and 10 rebounds to help New Orleans beat Los Angeles.

Jrue Holiday had eight assists for New Orleans, half of the total assists generated by the entire Clippers team. The Pelicans also overcame 23 turnovers. Cousins lost the ball eight times — two on offensive fouls — and Holiday had seven turnovers.

Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 27 points, but it came on 9-of-27 shooting. DeAndre Jordan has 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Wizards 113, Hawks 94

Washington — Bradley Beal scored 19 points and Washington forced Atlanta into a season-worst 24 turnovers.

Markieff Morris scored 18 points in his best game offensive game since returning from sports hernia surgery, and Kelly Oubre added 18 in Washington’s second straight win.

Taurean Prince scored 19 points and Marco Belinelli had 15 for Atlanta.

Rockets 111, Grizzlies 96

Houston — James Harden scored 38 points to lead Houston over Memphis.

After suffering two losses to Memphis in the first two weeks of the season, the Rockets finally solved their shooting woes against the Grizzlies.

In their previous two meetings, Memphis held the Rockets to 90 and 89 points, the only two times the Rockets have been held under 100 points this season, and Houston’s lowest two scoring efforts ever under head coach Mike D’Antoni.

On Saturday night, however, Houston jumped out to a 9-0 lead by draining three 3s and never let Memphis go ahead, leading by as many as 25 points. The Rockets outdid their previous scoring against Memphis by the end of the third quarter, entering the fourth with a 93-70 lead.

Houston hit 16 of 45 (35.6 percent) from beyond the arc, including six of 14 from Harden, who added eight assists and four rebounds. Eric Gordon added 26 points on 6-of-11 3-point shooting for Houston.

Knicks 118, Kings 91

New York — Kristaps Porzingis returned after a one-game absence to score 34 points, Courtney Lee added 20, and New York beat Sacramento.

Enes Kanter had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Knicks, who have won four straight at Madison Square Garden. New York led by as many as 33 points in the fourth quarter.

Skal Labissiere scored 19 points and Buddy Hield chipped in 17 for the Kings, whose two-game winning streak was snapped.

Porzingis missed Wednesday night’s loss at Orlando with ankle and elbow injuries.

The Kings got within one point on three occasions in the second quarter, the last coming with 6:54 remaining when Hield’s jumper made it 43-42. New York then took off on a 21-7 run, capped by four straight points from Porzingis, and led 64-49 at halftime.

The 22-year-old Porzingis, who entered play as the NBA’s second-leading scorer, went 11 of 21 from the field, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range. He strung together six straight points to put the Knicks ahead 74-53 with 8:38 left in the third quarter as fans serenaded him with “MVP” chants.

He went to the bench for the night with the Knicks leading 88-60 late in the third.

New York started out slowly, missing five straight shots and turning the ball over twice as the Kings jumped out to a 10-0 lead.

The Knicks closed out the opening period on a 32-13 run, highlighted by 16 points from Porzingis, including a personal 8-0 run.
