New York — Joseph Viviano III threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third, Joey Goodman broke up a fourth-down pass in the end zone with 31 seconds left and Harvard defeated Columbia, 21-14, on Saturday.

After an 11-yard run on fourth-and-10 and a 5-yard pass interference penalty set up the Lions (6-2, 3-2 Ivy League) on the 8 with less than a minute remaining, the Crimson defense stepped up. Alex White sacked Andres Hill for a 2-yard loss and then Hill spiked the ball.

Viviano connected with Henry Taylor for a 65-yard touchdown and interceptions by Cole Thompson and Charlie Walker set up the other two scores that put Harvard (5-3, 3-2) up 21-7 entering the fourth quarter.

Harvard and Columbia are in a four-way tie for second in the league, a game behind Yale.

Penn 38, Princeton 35

Philadelphia — Will Fischer-Colbrie threw a touchdown pass with just over a minute to play that made the difference as Penn beat Princeton.

The Quakers (4-4, 2-3 Ivy) trailed 35-31 when Fischer-Colbrie capped an 80-yard drive with a 15-yard scoring pass to Justin Watson with 1:12 left to play. The Tigers (5-3, 2-3) got within field goal range on their final possession but Tavish Rice missed a 31-yard attempt.

New Hampshire 35William & Mary 16

Williamsburg, Va. — Trevor Knight passed for 406 yards and a career-tying four touchdowns and New Hampshire (6-3, 4-2 CAA) beat William and Mary (2-7, 0-6).

Knight, 25-of-35 passing with no interceptions, threw for three touchdowns in the first half when the Wildcats took a 21-10 lead.

Neil O’Connor caught seven passes for 193 yards, including a 48-yarder for the first points of the game and his CAA-leading 10th TD catch this season while also going over 1,000 yards in 2017. Kieran Presley, Nick Lorden and Donald Goodrich also had TD catches with Evan Gray scoring on a 1-yard run.

Holy Cross 42, Fordham 20

New York — Peter Pujals completed a key pass to Blaise Bell on fourth-and 9 late in the first half and Holy Cross (4-6, 3-2 Patriot League) scored on the next play to begin a stretch of five straight touchdowns.

JMU 38, Rhode Island 3

Kingston, r.i. — Bryan Schor threw four touchdown passes and defending FCS champion James Madison (9-0, 6-0 CAA) overcame a slow start to defeat Rhode Island for its 21st straight win.
