David Wagner

Lebanon, N.H. — David A Wagner, age 62, died peacefully in Lebanon on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, as a result of respiratory failure following hip replacement. He was born Sept. 9, 1955 in Claremont, N.H., the youngest of four boys of Norman (Tom) and Ruth (Steele) Wagner. He attended Claremont schools and Stevens High School, displaying a rebellious attitude, typical of children of the 60’s. He is survived by a son, Scott and a grandson, Lucas, of St Albans, Vt., and brothers, Peter Parker of Grand Blanc, Mich., Tom Wagner and his wife, Amy of E, Charleston, Vt., and Alan Wagner and his wife, Joyce of Lebanon. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Maria Alforque. He was very close to his niece, Heather Wagner, of Newport, N.H., who survives, in addition to three nephews and a niece.

David loved music of the 70’s, and 80’s and was a fan of heavy metal and Metallica. He had an extensive music collection. He also loved movies and maintained a large movie collection. He was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. David learned to ski by age five, and he excelled at the sport. He skied competitively for Stevens, skiing cross country, alpine, and jumping. He was a very smooth, excellent, and graceful alpine skier, skiing until recently, when hip pain forced him to the sidelines.

David was employed as an administrative assistant for Summit Wealth Group in Wilder, Vt.

There will be a graveside service for family and friends at Union Cemetery in West Claremont Friday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. A reception at the Claremont Elks will follow.
