Caroline Shaunessy provided Dartmouth’s goal on a pass from Christine Rombaut midway through the third period.
Harvard outshot the Big Green, 43-24, forcing 39 saves from Dartmouth goaltender Christie Honor. The Big Green (0-1-0) visits UNH on Sunday afternoon.

Dartmouth’s defense limited the U.S. squad to just 20 shots on goal, but the visitors made them count. Patrick Giles, Joel Farrabee and Bode Wilde scored, and Drew DeRidder excelled in the Americans’ net, posting a 39-save shutout.
The Big Green opens its regular-season schedule at Holy Cross on Friday night.

Samantha Bozoian and Elise Petit posted matching nine-kill nights for Dartmouth (7-10 overall, 3-5 league). Lauren Douglas offered up 16 digs, and fellow freshman Tori Dozier finished with a team-high 29 assists.
Dartmouth hits the road for four straight matches, starting with next weekend’s trip to Cornell and Columbia.
Mathis to ITA Last 16

Mathis opened with a straight-sets defeat of a Sacred Heart foe before dropping Yale’s Mimi Levine, 6-4, 6-2, to advance. Racquel Lyn and Abigail Chiu also won early matches for the Big Green before falling in the round of 32.
Big Green Busy at ITAs
New Haven, Conn.
The Big Green won three round-of-32 matches in doubles, led by an 8-1 win for Dan Martin and David Hroneffer over a Sacred Heart tandem.
Ciro Ricardi, Martin, Charlie Broom and John Speicher claimed singles wins, with Speicher forced to three sets before defeating Brown’s Jack Haworth.
The tournament continues today.
Women Second at CCSU
New Britain, Conn.
Luwikowski ran the 3K course in 10 minutes, 19.5 seconds to take third place. Teammates Anna Clark, Angela Ortlieb and Anna DiMarcello were 19-21-23 as Dartmouth (72 points) finished behind only UNH (45).
The men were 10th in their 5K race. Sam Morton had the best time, finishing 12th in 15:27.9.
