Hanover
Christo Dragnev, Liam Collins and Earl Barrowes scored for the Marauders (12-4), who have shut out seven teams over those 10 wins since beginning the season 2-4.
“We’ve been learning from our mistakes, have gotten a couple of players back (from injury) and our young players are learning how to play soccer,” said Hanover coach Rob Grabill.
The Blue Devils (11-3-1) entered the game third in D-I. The loss bumped them to fourth while Hanover appears locked in the No. 5 spot entering the tournament.
Having just entered the game as substitutes during the 19th minute, fresh-legged juniors Dillon Bradley and Dragnev combined for Dragnev’s fifth goal of the season to make it 1-0 at halftime.
Less than five minutes into the second half, Collins netted his team-leading 11th goal of the season — on the team-leading 12th assist of the year by Henry Kahl — and Barrowes added more insurance by dribbling through three defenders and lifting a shot past Salem goalie Anthony Bellomo in the 65th minute.
Led by Gary Li, Sam Pych and Ben Parrado, Hanover’s defense helped keep things simple for Hanover keeper Hans Williams. He needed only one save to preserve his team’s latest clean sheet.
Hanover awaits its first-round playoff opponent and will likely host it next Wednesday, Grabill said.

Schmidt added a second about 20 minutes later, and Siggi Geirsson made it 3-1 for the Wildcats (10-1-3) in the 79th minute. Dartmouth’s Dawson McCarthy gave the visitors a ray of hope with an unassisted strike with 5:13 to play only to have UNH respond through Jack Doherty with less than two minutes left.
Dartmouth resumes Ivy League play when conference co-leader Columbia pays a visit to Burnham Field on Saturday night.
