Franconia, n.h. — A 63-year-old Hanover woman fell roughly 15 feet while hiking along the Falling Waters Trail near Cloudland Falls in the White Mountains on Sunday.

The state Fish and Game Department learned that Rose Mary Ayers suffered a fall around 9:30 a.m. They assembled a rescue team and reached her 45 minutes later.

She was transported to Littleton Regional Hospital in Littleton, N.H., with unknown back injuries. Her condition on Wednesday wasn’t known.

Sunday was a busy day for rescue personnel in the White Mountains. Another woman, from Massachusetts, suffered a fall around 2 p.m. and later on in the afternoon, crews were called in for a fatigued hiker.
