Plainfield, N.H. — Clifford D. “Mickey” Griswold Jr., 84, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017. He was born in Etna, N.H. on Jan. 4, 1933, to the late Clifford & Beatrice (Tobin) Griswold Sr.

Mickey attended schools in both Windsor and Plainfield. He worked for a period of time at a saw mill in Meriden before enlisting in Air Force. When he returned from the military he married Hazel M. Wilcox, March 21, 1959 and they settled in Plainfield. He worked as a mechanic for Thompson’s Garage in Hanover for 20 years and later opened his own garage in Plainfield.

He was a member of the Lebanon Elk’s Club, American Legion Post 22 and the Twin State Trail Busters. Mickey and his good buddies Craig, Claudia and William enjoyed ice fishing and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Griswold; two daughters, Ann Green and husband, Max and Tina Griswold; three siblings, James Griswold of Enfield, Danny Griswold and Anna Daniels; grandchildren, Joey Griswold, Randa Lockard, Eric Rice, Heather Tufts, Jessie Green and Jamie Green; six great-grandchildren, Breanna, Brant, Brook, Dominic, Lilly Anna and Cody; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Steve Griswold; and four siblings, David Griswold, Donald Griswold, Betty Abbott and Ellen Patterson

Family and friends are invited to Mickey’s graveside service on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield.
