“It was a good come-from-behind win and we are thankful that we scored when we did,” said Sunapee head coach Jack Iacopino in an email. “We did not want to go into overtime.”
Epping opened the game with two goals in the first 17 minutes, putting the Lakers in an early hole. Garland and Michael Mullen tied things up before halftime. Mullen later assisted on Garland’s 13th goal of the year to lift Sunapee to 9-4. Will Palin made four saves.
Garland has scored in each of his last five games. The Lakers, winners of four of their last five, travel to Newmarket on Friday. Sunapee fell to the Mules last week, 4-2.
South Royalton 4Craftsbury 3 (ot)
South Royalton
Sanabrio opened the scoring one minute into the match, but Craftsbury answered with three goals of their own to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. South Royalton recovered in the second half, tying the game at 3-3 before Sanabrio took a through ball from Zeb Perreault in overtime for his 13th goal of the season.
Jacob Barry also scored for the Royals. Perreault and Jacob Hewitt each finished with two assists. Sam Fisk made five saves. South Royalton (7-0-2) hosts Chelsea on Thursday.
Hartford 3, Brattleboro 1

“(Valley) made a couple of spectacular saves,” Hartford head coach Kevin Guilbault said.
Pat McGlone broke the scoreless tie in the first half and assisted on Mac Sunde’s second goal of the year in the second half. Alex St. Martin added the insurance goal with three minutes remaining, assisted by his brother, Andrew.
Hartford (5-4-2) hosts Woodstock on Friday at Hartford High School for senior night.

“We pulled out a win,” Eagles head coach Zach Bryan said. “It wasn’t our best showing.”
Mid Vermont has won three out of its last four games. Stan Nelson made five saves. The Eagles (5-6) travel to Craftsbury on Thursday.

“I was excited and nervous about this game,” said Stevens head coach Jason Stone in an email. “They have had some really close games with some of the top teams. But we responded today.”
Mitchell Paquette provided two assists, Josh Thurber and Parker Moote each scored once and Colin Lewis finished the game with a helper. Tanner Durkee and Ian Fitzpatrick made a combined nine saves for the shutout.

Max Stearns got the Mountaineers going on either side of the interval, nailing a 22nd-minute penalty kick and adding a second goal in the 50th minute on a pass from his brother, Carter. Gabriel Feeney, Allister Wigglesworth and Colby Washburn added markers in the final five minutes, and Washburn contributed an assist as well. Levi West posted the four-save shutout for Whitchester.

Montano opened the scoring in the third minute, assisted by Mason Harkins. Will Crompton assisted on Townley’s first goal of the game in the 16th minute, and Montano scored again one minute later to build a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Townley scored again in the 48th minute, assisted by Cullen McCarthy. Kyle Weirether added to it in the 62nd minute and Parker Kuhnert scored his first varsity goal in the 72nd minute. Townley also had an asssist.

“They’re pretty good, and we weren’t,” Woodsville coach Mike Ackerman said. “We were flat most of the day. We didn’t go to the ball the way we should. We couldn’t finish.”
Woodsville did get a good game from goalkeeper Isaac Frost, who finished with nine saves.

The game was scoreless until Woodstock’s Olivia Marsicovetere broke through, assisted by Gina Sorrentino, just after halftime. Rivendell answered with three goals of their own, two from leading scorer DeBois (Nos. 17 and 18 on the year) and another from Mikayla Stever (her 17th). Riley Thomson finished the game with an assist. The Raptors’ Cora Day made 17 saves in goal, while Lydia Howe stopped 12 shots for Woodstock.
Seniors DeBois, Thomson and Bailey Ordway were honored before the game for senior night. Rivendell head coach Tim Goodwin praised Ordway’s defensive play.
The Raptors travel to Woodstock on Monday. The Wasps (3-6) host Fair Haven on Thursday.

Abbie Koff set up a pair of Ileana Sirois goals and scored one of her own to stake the Canes (6-4-1) to a 3-0 halftime cushion. Carol North’s unassisted strike closed Hartford’s scoring account, and Morgan White included several highlight-quality stops as part of an eight-save night in goal.

Emily Smith and Lizzy Brown struck for the Chargers for a quick 2-0 lead. Hannah White and Emma Gillette responded before halftime for the Royals, only to have Brown hit for her second of the afternoon five minutes into the second half. Junior co-captain Kylie Hebard assisted on both SoRo goals.
Lilly Hudson finished with 11 saves for the Royals, who host Twinfield on Thursday.

Maddie Austin finished with two goals, her 33rd and 34th of the season, and an assist. Hannah Cooney had a goal and one assist. Abby Pollari scored once, and Ellie Frederick had a helper.

Hannah Brown and Maddy Dumont scored within the first 6½ minutes after halftime to erase a 1-0 deficit. Gabby Levitt made it 3-1 for the visitors in the final 20 minutes, and Littleton (10-4-1) milked the cushion even after Olivia Sarkis drew Woodsville (10-3-0) within a goal with 7:39 left.
“We held them and played a pretty decent first half, but we went out in the second half and didn’t play,” Woodsville coach Ann Loud said. “We weren’t playing our soccer until the last 10 minutes.”
Suzy Bazzell knocked home a Sarah Britton pass for a first-half Woodsville goal, while Molly Clough assisted on Sarkis’ strike. Woodsville hosts Groveton on Thursday at Community Field.

“We had a couple of slip-ups in the middle of the field that did us in,” Sharon coach Heidi Thedwall said. “We just didn’t come out as motivated as they did today.”

The Marauders honored seniors Smith, Hannah Curtis, Tessa Cahoon, Daphnie Friedman, Isabelle Sangha and Madeline Wallace before the game for senior day.

“Plymouth was definitely more aggressive. They got to the ball faster,” Lebanon head coach Amanda Pelletier said. “It was a pretty high-scoring field hockey game, back and forth the whole time.”
The game was tied, 3-3, at halftime. Emily Hunnewell finished with a goal and an assist. Katie Berthasavage had a helper. Hope Brown made 13 saves.
Woodstock, Windsor Place At Springfield Meet

Vollers won the girls race in 21 minutes, 27 seconds, the only Woodstock representative in the top 10. For Windsor, Morgan McKeen took second place (22:15), Belle Moulton placed eighth (24:52) and Olivia Rockwood took ninth (25:07).
The Wasps’ Shepherd claimed the boys division in 16:52. Woodstock’s Matthew Bassette placed second (17:20), and Justice Bassette took fourth (18:31). Windsor’s Justin Smith finished in third (18:15).

Grace Clay and Lexi Miller were both perfect from the service line to set things up for the Lakers, with Clay delivering four aces. Emily Devore and Tess Palin also were big with the serve, each recording seven aces. Palin led the attack with six kills, while Clay and Jenna Levasseur each recorded five.
Dartmouth 3, Holy Cross 2

Parker gave Dartmouth an early lead only to have the hosts’ Carly Flahive respond barely two minutes later. Neuberger’s put the Big Green ahead for good with her 42nd-minute strike before setting up Parker’s 70th-minute goal to extend the lead. Allie Neumann threw the Crusaders a lifeline with five minutes left, but Holy Cross didn’t threaten the Dartmouth net again.
Big Green, Bears Will Not Clash

Dartmouth sports information director Rick Bender said Brown explained it did not have enough healthy players to compete and regards the match as a cancellation. Dartmouth, however, views the contest as a forfeit, Bender said.
The Big Green is 4-0 and the top-ranked Division I women’s varsity team in the country. Brown, 1-2 and ranked 10th, beat Princeton, 69-10, last week.
