Hewitt’s game-winner was his third goal of the day. Alvaro Sanabrio picked up two assists, including one on the game-winner, and scored the other SoRo goal. The Royals led, 2-0, at halftime before the Mountaineers staged a comeback after the break.
Max Stearns scored the first two Mountaineer goals, but Whitchester still trailed, 3-2, as the final minutes ticked away. Deep inside the final minute of regulation, Colby Washburn’s throw-in found Carter Stearns, who then converted for the game-tying goal with just 7 seconds left on the clock.
“Bouncing back from a downer like that was great. I didn’t say anything to the boys because I know they motivate themselves, and they did it,” Royals coach Alex Montano said.
The Royals (4-0) had a strong effort by goalkeeper Sam Fisk (three saves) and will visit Sharon on Tuesday.
Goalie Levi West made 11 saves for the Mountaineers (3-5), who visit Chelsea on Tuesday.

Sophomore Charlie Adams netted his second hat trick in three games to ignite the victory. Henry Kahl, Liam Collins, Christo Dragnev and Sam Pych also hit the net, Pych scoring his first goal of the season after recovering from a preseason injury. Elias Zinman had three assists, Kahl added two and Adams, Collins and Blake Palmer each contributed one.
With Ben Parrado and Gary Li in charge of the defense, goalkeeper Joey Perras needed just two saves for the clean sheet. Hanover travels to Nashua North on Wednesday.

Vincent Moeykens scored unassisted in the first half for the Jacks (4-5). Dylan Hodgdon then converted with a shot into the upper-left corner on a direct kick in the second half. Keeper Eli Milligan made five saves for the shutout.
“Overall, we carried the play and had a lot of chances. The kids played well, and it’s always good to get a win on homecoming,” Windsor coach Andy Tufts said.
The Yellowjackets visit Springfield on Tuesday.

“It was a game of two halves. We dominated possession (in the first half) but couldn’t put the ball into the back of the net. We talked about making adjustments in the second half and wrapped the game up,” Sharon coach Rob Stainton said.
Sam Knoerlein added a goal and two assists. Tom Bissaillon scored two goals. Erik Younce had an assist. Keeper Dillon Butner made one save for the Phoenix (5-1-1), who host South Royalton on Tuesday.

Rachel Horner-Richardson and Dylan Patel each had two goals for the Eagles. Josh King scored a goal, the 20th of his career, and recorded his first-ever save as keeper in the second half. Evan Strobl and Caleb Scully also scored. Scully, King, James Bryan and Cade Paquette each had assists.

Logan Falzarano converted an Owen Johnstone feed in the fifth minute for a 1-0 Lebanon lead. Trinity answered in the 18th minute, but Falzarano responded with a goal three minutes later on an assist from Luke Sandmann. The Raiders led, 2-1, at halftime.
Connor Downs headed home a Nate Chickering corner kick in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1 in favor of the hosts. Sandmann scored unassisted in the 55th minute for the final goal.
Keeper Chris Nulty made four saves for Lebanon, which plays at John Stark on Tuesday.

Melanie Neal and Barton each scored in the first half. Barton added a pair after the break. Emma Parkin picked up an assist, and keeper Mason Tomlinson had three saves. Lillian Bartlett had a strong game defensively, according to coach Charlie Barton.

Alex Mosenthal produced a touchdown hat trick of sorts for Hanover, scoring on a 7-yard run with six minutes left in the first quarter, hitting Graham Penfield on a 36-yard TD pass three minutes later and adding a 65-yard interception return for points just before halftime. Griffin Young got Hanover on the board just a minute into the game on a 61-yard touchdown dash. Caleb Putnam led the attack with 98 yards on 12 rushing attempts with two scores.
Moises Celaya was perfect on six PAT tries, and Jack Loftus added a 41-year touchdown run in the second half to complete Hanover’s night. The Marauders have next week off and host Kingswood on Oct. 13.

Perkins scored from the 11 and the 3 in the first quarter as Hartford built a 16-7 lead. The latter TD kicked off a run of four straight Hartford scores, as Tyler Hamilton (3-yard run), Perkins (1-yard run) and Kody Rhodes (12-yard run) followed with touchdowns that pushed the Canes to a 40-7 advantage by early in the third quarter.
Rhodes also finished with three TDs for Hartford, all in the second half. Hartford also hit on all seven of its 2-point conversion attempts.
The Hurricanes host Vermont Division I-leading BFA-St. Albans next Friday in the program’s annual Patriot Game.

Jack Hanson had three touchdowns for Kennett, including the first two of the game. Lebanon played without starting quarterback Jon Willeman and top running back Matt Eylander; both missed Friday’s game with injuries suffered in last week’s 41-6 loss against Hanover.
The Raiders host Laconia a week from tonight.

Silver-Van Meter finished the five-kilometer route in 17 minutes, 31 seconds for the narrowest of wins. Shepard and teammate Matthew Bassette (17:46) were the next two across, but Brattleboro packed four runners in the top 11 to take a seven-point team victory. Clifford Ransom clocked a 10th-place time of 19:09 for TA, Justin Smith took 11th (19:16) to pace Windsor, and Michael Olson posted a personal-best time of 23:22 to claim 35th place for Hartford.
Brattleboro swept the girls team race, edging Thetford by a dozen points. Meaggie Balch (20:37) and Eloise Silver-Van Meter (21:56) were 2-3 for the Panthers, while Grace Vollers (22:15) checked in with a fourth-place result for Woodstock. Morgan McKeen and Olivia Rockwood finished 11-12 for Windsor, and Hartford got top performances from Katie Thompson (16th, 25:06) and Clementine Philip (19th, 26:09).
Hartford heads to an MVL meet at Brattleboro on Tuesday. All of the schools then turn their focus toward the Thetford Woods Trail Run a week from today.

Five Mascoma servers combined on 14 aces, with Kaelyn Gelinas recording four to lead the way. Morgan Longley and Raeleigh Mansur both had three aces, and Lindsay MacDonald and Renee French each had two.
“It was our service that went into the net that did us in,” Mascoma coach Frank Gould said. “We couldn’t get a run of more than two or three at a time.”

Sunapee built a seven-point lead in the fourth set before Pittsfield rallied to secure the match with a narrow victory. Grace Clay was 16-for-16 serving with two aces and also had six kills. Emily Devore had eight aces, and Lexi Miller added two. Jenna Levasseur recorded six kills, and Mackenzie Wrightington finished with five. Tess Palin also had five kills and an ace for Synapee.
The Lakers (6-4) visit Mascenic on Wednesday.

Fellow freshman Tori Dozier also finished with a double-double for Dartmouth, amassing 30 assists to go with a dozen digs. Another freshman, Tola Akinwumi, had a big defensive game with two blocks and an assist, and junior Zoe Leonard recorded four of the Big Green’s seven service aces.
The Big Green returns to host Cornell at 5 p.m. today.
