Hartford — Police closed a single lane of traffic on Interstate 89 around noon on Monday after a car struck the rear of a dump truck and became lodged underneath.

No injuries were reported in the accident, which occurred just north of the New Hampshire state line, according to a Vermont State Police news release. Part of the highway was closed for an hour as crews separated the two vehicles.

Police said a Subaru Legacy crossed lanes while driving on the highway, hitting a dump truck hauling asphalt and getting stuck under its left rear wheels. Although no one was hurt, members of the Hartford Fire Department responded to reports of a small fire under the vehicles.

The Subaru sustained front end damage and was taken away in a flat bed wrecker, while the dump truck was repaired on-scene and drove away, according to the release.
