HealthHUB Welcomes New Hygienist, Expands Services

South Royalton — HealthHUB, a school-based health clinic that provides mental health, medical and dental care to students in White River Valley Supervisory Union and Orange North Supervisory Union, has added a new dental hygienist who will help the service expand dental care.

Janine Reeves, of Bethel, first encountered HealthHUB when she toured the dental trailer when it was parked in her hometown. The trailer is equipped to do X-rays and cleanings and travels to participating schools in order to provide dental care onsite.

“I remember thinking what a wonderful idea this was,” Reeves said. When she was approached last year about joining HealthHUB, Reeves said she was ready for a change after years in private practice.

“I’m very excited about helping to close the gap in what is a great need for dental care for so many in the Upper Valley,” she said.

In addition to the students that HealthHUB has traditionally served, Reeves will also be seeing adults including school staff members, parents and the public. Appointments can be made by calling 802-431-6060.

“By bringing preventive dental services to prospective patients, we will provide care for many who may not otherwise be treated,” Reeves said.

New London Hospital Hosts Annual Recognition Event

New London — New London Hospital recently hosted its annual recognition event, highlighting employees for longstanding service.

Becky Partridge, of New London, received the Employee of the Year. Partridge, the environmental services supervisor, has worked at the hospital for 37 years and recently helped her department through a series of transitions.

Four other individual awards were also given: Sherri Hodgdon, senior pharmacist, was presented with the Unsung Hero award; Milan Pakhrin, a database report developer and analyst, and Sarah Humphreys, events coordinator, received The Rookie of the Year award; and Cheryl Dean, chaplain, was given the The Patient- and Family-Centered Care/Customer Service award.

In addition more than 60 employees were recognized for reaching service milestones, from five years to 35 years with the hospital.

“It means so much to the leadership team to host this annual event for our employees,” said Shari Bostwick, vice president of human resources at the hospital. “It’s our chance to say ‘thank you’ and give back to our employees who give so much to the hospital and the patients we care for.”

Mt. Ascutney Hospital Names Employee of the Month

Windsor — Stephanie Soles, development assistant at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and health Center, is the organization’s Employee of the Month for August.

Soles, who lives in Windsor, processes gifts and acknowledgements for the hospital’s annual fund, special events and fundraising campaigns. She assists with marketing and other projects, and has taken on additional duties during a time of transition in the department.

“Stephanie approaches her tasks calmly and with a smile,” said Charles Clement, director of development at Mount Ascutney. “She recently embraced the challenge of coordinating the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Golf Classic, producing a successful, well-organized event. She worked many hours leading up to the event, including the weekend prior to the tournament, making sure nothing was overlooked.”
