Grantham —
Plainfield resident Margaret Drye was the sole Republican listed as filing for the seat on the Secretary of State’s website on Friday evening, hours after the close of the filing period.
Drye has chaired the Plainfield Republican Town Committee and is a former chairwoman of the Hanover Consumer Cooperative Society’s Board of Directors.
On the Democratic side, Grantham residents Brian M. Sullivan and Cody Dziegelewski both filed to run for the seat, which was left open after Democratic Rep. Andy Schmidt resigned last month when he moved to New London.
The two-seat district represents the towns of Grantham, Cornish, Plainfield and Springfield, N.H.
Sullivan is a retired NEA-NH labor negotiator; before that, he taught high school science for 10 years in Berlin, N.H.
Dziegelewski has lived in Grantham for more than a decade and graduated from the University of Vermont in 2015.
The primary will be held on Sept. 19, with the special election on Nov. 7.
