Lyme, N.H. —
He grew up in White River Junction, was a graduate of Hartford High School in Vermont and had resided in Lyme for the past 25 +/- years.
Free spirited as they come, Joe was a chef for many years and worked at various restaurants, camps and lodges throughout the country and the world. With his last taking him to Alaska. He was an animal lover and watched over many animals in Lyme when their owners went away. Joe loved to travel, anything having to do with the outdoors and yearned to see the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska one last time before he left this world. He was incredibly proud of his New England roots as well as his Greek/Italian heritage.
Joe is survived by his son, Mark Danaher and wife, Tate of Naples, Fla.; his sister, Judith Danaher of Hamden, Conn.; three granddaughters, Alyssa Danaher of Rock Hill, S.C., Isabella Danaher of Naples, and Hyla Danaher of Naples; one niece, Lisa Giudici; two nephews, Bob and Skip Beisler; and many Upper Valley friends.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Washington Memorial Funeral Home in North Haven, Conn., and a celebration of Joe’s life will be planned at a later date.
Tributes to Joe’s life can be written in the guest book at http://washingtonmemorialfh.tributes.com/obituary/guestbook/Joseph-Allen-Danaher.
